Promotions FAQ

So what if you think you should have been promoted? Like I said before, this is a rough guide to what C/O's expect in order to consider a promotion. Think to yourself: have I done what deserves a promotion and what these guidelines, or brigade guidelines suggest? If the answer is yes, then speak to your C/O in a civilized manner. An ideal approach would be to say. "I believe I may have done what's required for a promotion, could you tell me what more you'd expect in order to consider me?" - If you don't get a fair response, go up the chain of command to your C/O's C/O, and so on.

What if you think someone got a promotion and he did less than you have? Well to be fair, you are probably wrong. As in all situations, you might find promotions are easier for some people than others, but that's life. Don't go jumping up and down asking for answers because you wont get them. Stay quiet and think about yourself and take comfort in the fact that no one will get anywhere in CA in the end if they have managed to "creep" their way up a few ranks without working. They will get stuck later on, whereas you will likely fly past. Most often you will find that promoted people have done a lot of work you are unaware of.

Are any personal qualities taken into consideration? Well yes, when promoting the C/O will have basic questions he asks of you. Can he trust you? Obviously you will need to be trusted to contribute to CA and your brigade. Are you argumentative? Don't be afraid to speak out your ideas and participate in debates, just keep it constructive. Please also speak to your brigade C/O's about their individual requirements for your relative brigade.
