Our Brigades

Since the end of 2000 CyberArmy has established groups, called Brigades, which are based on the CyberArmy Philosophy. CyberArmy currently has 4 Brigades, each tasked with missions ranging from informing the public about CyberArmy, accomplishing selected missions, programming, researching threatening exploits, and internal site regulation to educating CyberArmy members and the general public on a host of topics.

The current CyberArmy Brigades are

    * CyberArmy University
    * Services & Projects - Undergoing development
    * Cyberarmy Intelligence and Security
    * Open Source Institute

The Brigades enable the CyberArmy to follow its mission statement, by providing a clear structure with set goals and a set hierarchy in which many members can work together. All work done within CyberArmy is therefore coordinated through the Brigade system. Joining a Brigade allows each member to further participate in accomplishing CyberArmy's missions and goals and gain CyberArmy rank, as promotions are awarded depending on a member's involvement in the community and especially the work a member has completed. Officers with higher CyberArmy rank get more say in the choosing and running of CyberArmy campaigns. This is however not the only reason for joining a Brigade. The Forums are a pretty anonymous way of communicating as it tends to be hard to remember all the hundreds of screen names of people posting there. Working in a Brigade is a great way to meet and work with people on a more personal level and get involved with a myriad of different projects.

One could therefore easily summarize the Brigades' role for the CyberArmy: They are the lifeline of the CyberArmy.
