CyberArmy Academy Manual of Style
Language: Articles must be written in English, though they may use either American or Commonwealth spelling and punctuation conventions, as long as the style is consistent throughout.
Format:
1. An abstract (usually the first paragraph) must be supplied with all articles.
2. Proper capitalization, grammar, and punctuation rules must be followed.
3. There should be one linespace after every paragraph, and two linespaces at the end of each section.
4. Article titles should be bolded and follow title capitalization rules.
5. Section titles should be bold and italicized and have only the first word capitalized.
Specific words:
Acronyms should be in all caps with no periods (ATM, RAM, etc.), but the first occurrence of a new acronym should also have the full phrase spelled out first (“Random access memory (RAM) is…”)
CyberArmy is written with the “A” in “Army” capitalized.
References:
If material is gleaned from other sources, it must be referenced properly with author and title, and also one of the following sets of information:
1. For published sources, place of publication, date of publication, and page number.
2. For web sources, URL and access date.
The format of reference citation is to do them in endnote style, but the type of citation is up ot the author. Two popular formats are MLA and Chicago.
Graphics
If you write an article which makes use of graphics, please upload all graphics to the /library folder on /files and use a filename that will make the picture identifiable with a particular article, such as <articletitle>1.jpg.
