The CyberArmy University (http://www.cauniversity.info/) or "CAU," originally named the CyberArmy Academy, serves CyberArmy by educating its members and the internet at large. CAU offers an outlet to assist in self-study and further provides interactive training such as online classes and in the future, comprehensive sets of certifications in the Information Technology field. CAU has 3 main outlets which facilitate these processes consisting of the CyberArmy Library, Learning Center and, in the future the Testing Center.
The "CyberArmy Library" or "Library" , formerly known as the Knowledge-Bank or "KB" is CyberArmy's Official Library, created to replace the old and antiquated Zebulun Armoury (soon to be available as a historical archive on the CAU website). The CyberArmy Library is designed to roughly mimic a library card catalog. There are currently 33 main categories with additional subcategories. There exists within CAU, both a group of tutorial writers and collectors, who continually expand the available materials. New additions to the CyberArmy Library can be viewed directly in the Library in the Latest Articles section. The CyberArmy Library is geared to benefit CyberArmy members, but is open for use to anyone on the Internet.
CAU now houses The CyberArmy University "Learning Center" or "LC": The Learning Center is responsible for organizing and overseeing classes on a myriad of subjects. It will be responsible of recruiting teachers, running class rooms on IRC, logging and editing class logs, developing curriculum of courses, and assisting teachers in preparation for classes. The LC will oversee ensuring that all participants of a class gained an adequate knowledge of the information by way of tests and following up with members who had outstanding questions. (Please note that the Testing Center currently does not exist. There are plans to build a Testing Center and offer Certifications in the future, however this is a "long term" project.
CAU is also home to the Foreign Language Institute or FLI. The FLI is CyberArmy's only active translation group, primarily focused on the translation of class logs and articles in the CyberArmy Library, into CyberArmy members' native languages. Today there are approximately 100 translations spanning 5 languages. Though the FLI currently has no homepage, it will soon be displayed on the CyberArmy University website.
***** COMMING SOON *****
Previously, CAU hosted the Zebulun Armoury. Though no longer actively maintained or added to, the antiquated Zebulun Armoury serves as a historical archive boasting a massive 7,720 documents. Though it is currently not hosted, it will return shortly to the CAU site.
CyberArmy University's "Education Portal" or "EP" will be designed as a one stop shop for links to various educational sites on the Internet with emphasis on "IT" related material.
CAU's motto is "We Strive to Enlighten" and it's volunteers continually live up to this phrase offering a central place of learning for CyberArmy and the entire Internet.
