CyberArmy Teachers

The CyberArmy Teachers project is a group of individuals willing to share their knowledge by teaching online IRC classes via a controlled setting in CAU's #class channel. The project is NOT intended to recruit "full time" teachers, but rather for those individuals who would like to teach a class every 3-6 months. CAU's Learning Center will assist anyone interested in teaching. Individuals interested in becoming full time teachers (teaching once every 2-8 weeks) are encouraged to join The Learning Center.



Foreign Language Institute

The Foreign Language Institute (FLI) is in charge of translating the Academy's classes (class logs), tutorials and other written material into a variety of languages. This way people who's mother tongue is not English can still learn from what the Academy produces.



Project Butterfly

Project Leader: Cpt. gmw

It is said that something as small as a butterfly can change the world. Project Butterfly organizes CyberArmy's distributed computing efforts, and no matter how slow your computer is, *YOU* can directly contribute to finding the cure for AIDS or for any other number of diseases. Why stop at the physical? With Distributed Computing your PC(s) can become part of a supercomputer. Put your idle processes to work!



DINAH

Dinah is the backend that runs CyberArmy (see /about/DinahDevelopment for more information). If you would like to help, and make CyberArmy a better place, either in appearance or more functional, please do not hesitate to contact wa1800z or a member of staff for more information on open issues and how to get involved!



GEEK Challenge Development

The GEEK Challenge Development team consists of members who have established themselves through the GEEK Challenges on the OSI Website. The GEEK Challenge is a set of challenges to test computer programming skills. Topics and scenarios for the challenge include but are not limited to cryptography, information hiding, reverse engineering, and mathematics. This development team helps to breath life into the OSI website by creating new Levels of the GEEK Challenge. The team is also expected to provide hints and information to users in our GEEK Tips Forum.



OSIX Editorial Project

Project Leader: Cpt. NightScript?

The OSIX Editorial Project consists of contributors and other members responsible for user-submitted content on the OSI website. They are responsible for the quality and accuracy of articles as well as tests published in the OSIX Test Centre. Editorial helps to facilitate an informative and challenging community for programmers to develop software development skills and share information about the open source development model.

The Foreign Language Institute (FLI) is in charge of translating the University's classes (class logs), tutorials and other written material into a variety of languages. This way people who's mother tongue is not English can still learn from what CyberArmy University produces. To join this project, you must have a good knowledge of the English language and of a second ('foreign') language. Wiki Akademia's goal is to create complete courses on a myriad of IT related subjects by linking together freely available internal and external resources within a wiki syllabus.



CyberArmy Communications

Development of interactive communications products. Including, but not limited to IRC+SILC clients, IM systems, File-sharing, collaboration and ultra modern platforms such as Second Life and the like.



Operating System Research

This project aims to educate members on how a modern operating system is constructed as well as create an (eventual) end product.
